Dark-coloured and dark-eyed, hot-tempered and impulsive to the point of explosion – this is the Aconit type. Their reaction to events of everyday life is immediate and intense, manifested by elevation of blood pressure, hyperemia, bloodshot eyes and visible arterial pulsation; at such times they display increased libido and unusually concentrated thinking and memory abilities.

Fear of death, anxiety, anguish and apprehension are common complaints of these people, many of whose diseases arise as a direct result of sudden fear or violent passions. Cold, dry wind produces exacerbation of their complaints, while rest, sweating and strong alcoholic drinks bring relief.

Aconit is highly effective in thetreatment of all the diseases produced by exposure to cold wind, or resulting from emotional stress; it is also used in the treatment of initial phases of inflammation, and acute neurological pain, followed by numbness and paresthesia.
